When Jesus was discovered in the garden
He was mistaken for a gardener
He was in fact gardening.
His first act after the resurrection
Was to tend the earth.
To re-visit eden.
Mary, it’s me.
The one who walked in the cool of the evening.
With Adam and Eve in the first paradise.
Let go of me now.
There is much work to be done
In this my neglected Eden.
Note: One of my favorite Rembrandts is the picture of Jesus dressed in the floppy hat of a Dutch gardener. My son was pondering that Biblical scene and set my mind to pondering as well. This is a fanciful Cyber-Psalm but joyful, too, as I think of the one who arose and began to set things aright. For other Easter Cyber-Psalms see 28, 67, and 94.
